RICHARD FOLTZ has a B.S. in Music from Illinois State University.  He has studied piano with Julian Dawson, former accompanist with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, and associate conductor of the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Scottish Opera and the Glyndebourne Festival Opera in England. He also studied with Harold Gray, former Artistic Director of the Portland Piano International.  

Richard has been a public school music teacher for 32 years. He has also taught piano lab and chorus classes in Miami at American High School and Miami Northwestern High School. He has enjoyed being an accompanist for several Miami-Dade and Broward county high schools for instrumental solo regional and state contests for over 20 years. Richard has also performed with two local orchestras for productions of "The Nutcracker Suite," and was a pianist/musical director for ten musical theater productions in Hialeah/Miami Lakes and Pembroke Pines theaters.  He has been a pianist and organist for numerous liturgical and wedding ceremonies, including Kendall Community Church of God.  

Soon after arriving in Miami, Richard was employed as a music therapist working in the areas of habilitation and mental health. He has composed music for a popular puppet troupe serving the south Florida tri-county area. During this time, Richard also served as an accompanist for the renowned "Miami Children's Chorus," working with their different choral divisions.  In 2009, he became an adjunct faculty member at Miami Dade College including Miami's Notre Dame Church's outreach center, teaching music classes to children and adults.  In November 2010, he was nominated for his school's "Teacher of the Year." He has enjoyed his short tenure as piano accompanist with the St. Agnes Episcopal Church's vocal ensemble, Miami, Florida. He looks forward to further educational and therapeutic opportunities in music.
